When building a new house or renovating, please take steps to boost energy efficiency. Not only is your house more comfortable when it is energy efficient, but you will also save money in the long run. When designing your future house, remember to design for energy efficiency.


“Well-Sealed and Well Ventilated Houses” are Energy Efficient.

Houses that are better sealed create a more comfortable living environment because light and heat are shut out so the air conditioner can work more efficiently, while houses that are better ventilated can offer comfort, too, with air ventilation throughout the house


North-facing Houses are Energy-Saving

Looking at the amount of solar radiation, southern exposures receive the most rays. Consequently, north-facing houses receive less light/heat penetration and so require less energy for cooling. Furthermore, if you plant trees near sunny windows, the leaves will reduce the heat that enters the house.

Standby Power

Turn Off the Main Power.

If you turn off the power with the remote control instead of the main power switch, the standby power remains on to receive signals from the remote control, and this consumes electricity. In some cases, the amount of electricity consumed by standby power amounts to 10% of the household’s electricity consumption. Let’s turn off the main power switch as much as possible.


When away from Home for Long Periods, Turn off the Main power of Electrical Outlets.

Household electrical appliances that are on standby to receive signals from remote controls consume a small amount of electricity when the main power switch remains “on”. When you plan to be away from home for a period of a long period, remove plugs from outlets wherever possible. This is not only for energy saving but also safety.
